Kolsai Lake & Charyn Canyon Express Tour

06:00 — Early departure from the hotel

• Meeting with the guide at the doors of your hotel or apartments. Early departure allows avoiding city traffic jams and getting maximum time at the locations. The route lies to the east of the region through a picturesque suburban area and endless steppes.

11:00 — Arrival at Lake Kaindy

• The first stop is the famous "sunken" mountain Lake Kaindy, formed after the 1911 earthquake. A light walking route of 2 km through a dense coniferous forest or, upon request, a horseback ride awaits you. A mystical and world-famous view will open up before you: from the turquoise smooth water, like the masts of ancient ships, rise the dry trunks of century-old Tien Shan spruces.

12:30 — Departure to Lake Kolsai

• Gathering at the car and a short drive along mountain roads to the next point of our express route.

13:30 — Arrival at Lake Kolsai and lunch

• Meeting with the "blue necklace of the Tien Shan" — Lake Kolsai-1, located at an altitude of 1,818 meters surrounded by majestic coniferous forests. Free time is provided here for walking along panoramic eco-trails (about 1 km) or horseback riding. At the request of guests, a hearty lunch is organized: either in a panoramic restaurant on the shore with a view of the lake, or visiting a local family in the village, where you can feel the home flavor.

16:00 — Departure to Charyn Canyon

• Farewell to the highlands. Our SUV departs towards the famous Charyn desert system. The landscapes outside the window change rapidly from alpine spruce forests to Martian canyons.

18:00 — Arrival at Charyn Canyon

• Excursion along the famous "Valley of Castles" of Charyn Canyon — a natural monument whose age exceeds 12 million years. The evening time was not chosen by chance: the setting sun paints the clay and sand towers of the canyon in incredible bright orange and golden tones. Free time for walking along the bottom of the gorge and panoramic photos.

20:00 — Departure to Almaty

• The final driving part of the journey. Guests can rest in the comfortable interior of the car after a busy excursion day.

23:00 — Arrival in the city

• Return to Almaty. The guide will deliver you directly to the doors of your hotel or apartments.
