The route ends at Altyn-Emel and its famous Singing Dune — a dune roughly three kilometers long and up to 150 meters high that emits a low humming sound in dry weather as sand shifts down its crest. Legend has it that this is the voices of Genghis Khan's warriors, buried beneath the sand.
